about this tomato
San Marzano tomatoes have a centuries-old Italian tradition dating back as far as the 18th century. These tomatoes are characterized by their unique elongated shape, thick flesh and intense flavor. This makes them not only a favorite, but also a symbol of Italy's rich culinary tradition.
Over time, these tomatoes have spread throughout the world, often earning praise from chefs and foodies. They play a particularly important role in the preparation of classic Italian dishes, such as pizza and pasta. Moreover, they contain fewer seeds and little moisture, making them ideal for making flavorful sauces and tomato paste.
